7 Delectable Treats Prepared with Charlie's Chocolate

I am a chocolate addict. I love chocolate way too much, that there are times that I'm still eating or taking chocolates even if I have a tonsillitis - not recommended. So when the fellow blogger, Mary told me about Charlie's Chocolate Farm and that there's a spot for me, I didn't think twice and just go!

Charlie's Chocolate Farm

No, we didn't go to a farm that are all chocolates (can you imagine CHOCOLATE coming out of trees? Oh my God!). We were instructed that we'll just go to the Chillage, just near Parkmall and Cebu Doctors University for us to try out some products that are using Charlie's Chocolate.

The Chillage

Charlie's Chocolate Farm is a cacao processing and organic chocolate company in Cebu Philippines. Their chocolate products are made from the finest 99.9% all-natural cacao, 1% cocoa butter, with a shelf life up to three years.

Mary and I was the first bloggers to arrive, so we were able to check out their displays too. So cute! I felt like I was attending a small wedding.

When everyone arrived, introduced to each other, to Charlie's Chocolate farm,, they served us with these.

To be honest, I didn't know that it was a food tasting. I ate my lunch before coming to the event. I thought it was a chocolate like, a chocolate bar - like Cadbury or something.

I started with the salad of course. I was checking the ingredients, I'm starting to like salads since restaurants and hotels are serving me salads, delicious salads.

Food Rating: 3 stars out of 5

Ms. Aphol of Charlie's Chocolate Farm just sent me the details of the menu. And honestly, as I am writing this, I am surprised that there was a chocolate in the salad. I love the salad, but I love mangoes, so I wish there's more mangoes for me. The veggies are crispy and delicious too!

Charlie’s Hearty Breakfast

frosting and topped with Quail egg and Chorizo cluster
Food Rating: 3 stars out of 5

It was a bit weird, but a good weird. Chocolate cupcake stuffed with Chorizo, topped with quail's egg. I think it's that kind of food that you watch on TV (like the Master Chef show), that there should be balance. I think this is that food with balance, sweet and salty.

Some may not like it some may not. But I find it okay.

The Hungry Pig

Food Rating: 2 stars out of 5

I didn't like it much because it was a bit hard. I love soft food. But I knew there was something in the middle, it was stuffed with something, at first it was Spam, but it was actually a Hungarian sausage. I didn't finished this one, I go back eating the Hearty breakfast.

Chocolate Infused Pork Pieces

Food Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5

I was surprised that there was a pork served. I was confused at first since it was a food tasting but the product is a Chocolate, I thought we'll be served with a bunch of chocolate bars, drinks, and all. But these are all dishes.

When I tried the pork, I thought the sauce was your ordinary sauce for grilled pork, but it was a chocolate. The sauce was not really sweet, just sweet enough to blend with the pork. I'd love to eat this one again! A lot of it!

Charlie’s Favorite Cheesecake

Food Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5

I love cheesecake! Blueberry cheesecake, just cheesecake, and how much more if it's a Chocolate cheesecake. My oh my!

I was still eating the three (3) dish when the cheesecake was served, when I saw the cake I immediately stopped eating, get my plate and handed it over to the guys.

It was delicious! Not really sweet, soft, and you'll enjoy every bite. Will I recommend it? Of course! I'd love to get my hands on these again! I was not able to eat a lot, because again, I already ate my lunch. I'm running out of space here!

Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel

The other bloggers who were invited are foodie bloggers, surely they've been going around to taste the best foods in Cebu. When they saw this one (above) they were all like "Boombites!!!". They're like they just saw a treasure!

I immediately stopped (again) when the staff gave me one. I digged in immediately. The white part is actually a salted caramel, and the chocolate part is a chocolate cake. Everything' soft, sweet, and HEAVEN!

Chocolate Hangover

Food Rating: 3 stars out of 5

I was done with my cheesecake, boombites, the pork, and a girl came out and serenade us. The staff then served us with the hangover, and I was totally hangover. It's not soft, at first I thought it was soft because I can tell it's a marshmallows, but it was crispy. So I had fun eating it while we're being serenade by Jewel - forgot her last name.

Hot Chocolate Bar
by Charlie’s Chocolate Farm
Food Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

The hot chocolate bar is the first photo of the post. It's like the classy version of our local chocolate tablets, the classy is not only by the look, the container, but also by taste.

The food rating is not from me. My Mama is the hot chocolate lover here, so I let her rate it. When she first tasted it, she says "Perfect!". She said it reminds her of her relatives making their own home made chocolate tablet. It's pure cacao, not burnt, just perfect! So, she's giving it a 5!
