It’s included in one of the Coron tour package available and offered by travel agencies, so you may skip it if you want or just go there just to cross it out in your Coron islands visited lists.
Please take note that we’ve only spend about 15 minutes in CYC Beach of Coron. I spent my time more on swimming rather than going around this small island, just to set myself in the waters and make myself get used with the waters since most or all tours in Coron includes water activities.
But still, I feel like sharing with you my experience so I’ll be posting it here in this travel blog just in case you want a bit of sneak peak on what to expect with CYC Beach.
We left Coron town proper around 8 to 9am, and again since I suck at tracking time I'm not sure how long it was for us to arrive at CYC Beach. Estimate? 2 hours max maybe.
It's a long time I know, but you'll surely enjoy the view of the islands you'll pass by.
Then viola! You'll see a small island, with white beach. When I saw it actually, I just want to jump in right away, but patience is needed.
Other than the small island itself, you'll also enjoy the view of the other neighboring islands. I wasn't able to take some great photos of it as a background, since I was snorkeling most of the time but it will be a great photo opportunity for you.
As I've mentioned, Channel and I spent most of our time just snorkeling. It's a safe island to make yourself be introduce and used with snorkeling and swimming, so in the following stops you'll be able to enjoy the waters more. Trust me!
There's not much to see here at the island, if you just want to swim nearby the island. There's nothing really. You may see small fishes though.
Channel is the better swimmer than I am. She head on and saw some corals. She came back for me and pointed out that there are some corals for me to see. Hoping to see some bigger fish.
A closer look to the corals, there's nothing much to see. They're just there. There are some fish (if you're going to really take a look at the picture and examine it but they're just small fishes.
Then again, it's another great introduction for you to see the corals this way. Best not to touch it, to avoid damaging their homes and food.
You may see these school of fish. It's not as big as what you see in the movies but hey, it's a start.
Other than the fish you may also see chicks.
Hi stranger! Nice seeing you down here.
I don't really know her but I waved at her, she waved back. Saw her at the next island we visited which is the Banol Island, and she just smiled at me.
Meanwhile, while we're swimming, snorkeling, and just enjoying our time at CYC beach. Our boatman and the crew is cooking for us already.
It's a fresh fish he's cooking! Just grilling it at the back of the boat.
And for a hungry pig like me, this makes me happy. It means food on our next stop.
Is Coron Youth Club Beach (CYC Beach) a Must Visit Island?
It’s part of the tour package, but if you’re just alone or with a family or friend in the tour (not sharing with other group) then you may skip this island. But then again, if you just want to cross out Coron Youth Club Beach (CYC Beach) on your list then you should go for it.It’s best to use this island if you’re scared with the waters. It does not have a lot of corals, fish, it’s mostly sand. But I’ve heard there are jelly fish there too but we didn’t meet any – I guess it depends on the season and time you visited Coron.
I used the opportunity to make myself get used with the water, with snorkeling (since it was my first time to snorkel), until I’ll be able to get my life jacket off. Just to build up confidence.
But then, our little beautiful Lia did enjoy the waters and sand at Coron Youth Club Beach.
