Spaghetti Factory – Italian Food Dining in Cebu

Spaghetti Factory Cebu Restaurant Review

I’m a spaghetti girl. Especially when you’re talking about my Mama’s spaghetti and so far, nothing beats my Mama’s spaghetti. For years of hunting the spaghetti that could beat my Mama’s spaghetti, the Spaghetti Factory in Cebu is one of the restaurants that I’ve dropped by, but just few days ago Hana of DollHana.com invited me to join her in a food review for our FOOD TRIP at Spaghetti Factory.

This time around, I did not eat their spaghetti (since I’ve tried it already) but was able to get the taste other food they offer that I think you should try too. But first off, let me share to you guys a bit of Spaghetti Factory:

It all started a few years back when Dieter and Evangeline met on a cruise ship, which was operating worldwide. Both of them had worked at leading hotels and cruise lines for quite a while before the former food and beverage manager and the former front office manager met on board the Crystal Symphony, one of highest rated and most expensive ships in the world.

Enjoying seeing the world and getting paid well was a great experience until the relationship got more serious, the two married and their daughter Elizabeth was soon on the way.Now it was time to look for a home base and stop the gypsy life…The decision to be made was where to settle, either in Dieters home country Germany or in Vangies Philippines. It was an easy task for Dieter to agree on the Philippines since he had visited this hospitable country many times during his travels.

While Dieter was still sailing for a while, Vangie was taking care of the little Elizabeth and both started to dream about their own restaurant in Manila.

Both had a concept in mind and were already looking for a location while Vangie was still visiting her husband on board the cruise ship.

After a short renovation the first branch of First Italian Spaghetti Factory was ready for operation. It was never a question; the food the two wanted to offer should be Italian.

Besides being very versatile and delicious it was also very popular, especially with younger people.

Both wanted to have the concept a bit different from other, traditional and a bit boring concepts. At First Italian Spaghetti Factory everything is cooked fresh from the scratch, ala minute as the chef’s say and the gimmick is that you can combine your favorite pasta with your favorite sauce at a very short waiting time and a very affordable price, paired with a friendly, attentive and personal service.

The concept clicked from the beginning on and Dieter and Vangie are very happy, that they had done the big step.

Along with Hana and Angeli of FoodieCraft.com we just ask for the food that they wish to be featured on our blogs or their best sellers. They served us 6 foods 2 desserts and a shake and below are the food details and photos that they served us along with the rating per food:

Spaghetti Factory Spinach Cheese Dip

Spinach Cheese Dip (Php 139)

Food Rating: 4 out 5 stars

I was surprised with this appetizer. I’m not a veggie person and even though I love Popeye, I am not convinced to eat spinach. The dip has spinach inside, at first I thought I will only eat one piece but surprisingly, not being able to taste but see the spinach and taste more the cheese it made me want more of it. Hana herself loved it too, especially the dip – she seems to love cheese a lot.

Think your kids won’t eat it? Well, convince them to try it at least and I’ll bet that they would love this and will also want more of it like us. Trust me, it’s a great way to make them eat veggies.

Spaghetti Factory Homemade Ravioli Four Cheeses

Homemade Ravioli Four Cheeses (Php 259)

Food Rating: 3.5 out 5 stars

I don’t know what’s up with me with white food. I’m kind of hesitant with white food, unless it’s rice and/or with milk – I’ll eat it surely.

So again, I was hesitant to this food. I was thinking I’ll only eat half of one piece of it. I tried the sauce first, surprisingly it’s like the Carbonara sauce – or is it? So I have a go for the half piece of it to complete my task, and again it surprised me. It seems like the pasta is folded and it has cheese in the middle of it. I even have the second half of the whole piece and savor the taste – because I like it.

Spaghetti Factory Mafia Style Pasta

Mafia Style Pasta (Php 199)

Food Rating: 3 out 5 stars

Now this one have that Italian taste but my Mama loved this – since they gave me the left overs and gave it my Mama. It’s juicy, spicy and meaty. I’ve got a sweet tongue, so I don’t like sour foods much.

Spaghetti Factory Norwegian Salmon

Norwegian Salmon (Php 259)

Food Rating: 3.3 out 5 stars

Spaghetti Factory does not only offer pasta, they also serve other dishes – even their name is Spaghetti Factory their dishes are not all spaghetti. The salmon is just your regular fried fish but with its delicious sauce, it adds up a lot. The veggies and the Mango mustard sauce are a great match!

Spaghetti Factory Asian Salad

Asian Salad (Php 169)

Food Rating: 3.8 out 5 stars

I never tried vegetable salad before and it’s one of the dishes that I was thinking twice to try at first but then surprised me.

I loved the crispiness of the greens and the chicken breast fillet, the delicious sweet dressing and if you’ll include the mango strips on every bite, you’ll surely be surprise of the taste. It’s one of the vegetable dishes that I would love to come back to again.

Spaghetti Factory Creme of Pumpkin Soup

Creme of Pumpkin Soup

Food Rating: 3.3 out 5 stars

I was curious of this, I thought at first the container is a coconut but it's actually a bread. You'll have to slice up the bread to dip it to the pumpkin soup and the soup itself tastes delicious. I think we finished the soup itself and that already tells you that it tastes good too, your kids will surely love it. And oh! SF stands for Spaghetti Factory.

Next stop, the Spaghetti Factory desserts! Luckily, Hana’s partner and Angeli are not a fan of desserts. Hana and I are so lucky. Lol.

Spaghetti Factory Tiramisu

Tiramisu (Php 129)

Food Rating: 3.2 out 5 stars

I’ve tried Tiramisu before and this one is different from your usual Tiramisu. Instead of the graham they have the cake instead, totally soft, creamy and chocolaty! Sugar rush!

Warning though, it’s really really sweet. Imagine the Tiramisu with the THICK chocolate over the top and with the chocolate powder (don’t taste it because it’s the cacao powder – not sweet), you might want some water later on.

Spaghetti Factory Panna Cotta

Panna Cotta (Php 119)

Food Rating: 3 out 5 stars

At first it thought this is a blueberry cheesecake (my favorite!) because of the blueberry on top. No it’s not an egg with blueberry – looks like one though. It looks expensive, classy but very photogenic – great for your instagram followers drool.

Spaghetti Factory Oreo flavored Milkshake

Oreo flavored Milkshake (Php 109)

I can’t rate this milkshake since I had too much sugar already and I’m worried if my tonsils will go wild after this. But I’ve tried their milkshake before, and it’s really delicious!

Spaghetti Factory Review

I’ve been to Spaghetti Factory before (not letting them know that I’m a blogger) a couple of times and so far I have no problem with their service.

Overall, I would like to give the Spaghetti Factory 3.8 stars out of 5 stars. They only not offer just pasta, they offer a lot more than that. It’s a great place to bring your date by the way, it’s not that crowded, colorful place, and of course they have affordable and delicious dishes served.
