It’s interesting to note that the town of Coron Palawan is not on the island of the same name, but on Busuanga. From there, however, you can take boat tours and have a guide lead you to some of the many attractions in the area, including the beautiful and eerie Barracuda Lake. One of the places that we visited on this same day was CYC beach, Banol Beach, the Twin Lagoons, Kayangan Lake, and the Siete Pecados.
The Barracuda Lake is interesting because it is where hot fresh water meets cold, salty water. If you go diving in the lake you will be able to feel the effects of that under the surface of the water.
The area around the lake is rich in vegetation, and the lake itself is blue and spectacularly clear.
They say you will find catfish and many other small fish in the waters, but if you are lucky like I am, you may even see a Barracuda too.
Other than the underwater view,,,
you might also enjoy your surroundings just like the Twin Lagoons.
I was not fully satisfied of getting a view from the top.
Or just float on the water, when I have the opportunity to try going down while holding on to the rocks.
So, I completely let go of my life jacket. I just want to try to dive a bit lower to attempt in taking a picture of me deep in the waters.
It felt really good because I have the more freedom to move around, the flexibility. I actually tried going down, but it's an EPIC fail because I just float. I can't sink.
So I ended up...
Still floating around. Resting on the waters, laying down on the waters, and just relax!
Be warned though, once you're all wet, the stairs can be really slippery.
This is actually a great view, but yep! I slipped here and dropped almost at the bottom. Yeah, imagine the pig rolling down there.
But then, though I slipped. The experience itself is unforgettable. Being able to visit one of the top destinations in Coron, or in Palawan itself, is a great experience. Plus, having the time to bond with these gals is also another priceless moment.
We're all laughing at this photo because we made another 360 turn, and I told them "Okay! One more time!"... It was tiring thing to do because they don't have fins, only Channel and I have fins and it takes a bit of effort for us to swim around.
After exploring the Barracuda Lake, why not take a moment to look at some of the other amazing attractions in the area? Which is actually part of the Coron tour packages.
