A Guide for First Time Hikers at Osmeña Peak

A Guide for First Time Hikers at Osmeña Peak

One of the must do’s or try these days here in Cebu Philippines during summer is going to the known highest point of Cebu, the Osmeña Peak. And this summer, WithLocals sent me out to meet with the host, Janice to verify her experience wherein she’ll be touring and guiding guests from Osmeña Peak, to Kawasan Falls in Badian, chill at the Lambug Beach in Badian, drop at Car-Car, and go back to Cebu City. As a first timer myself in going up to the Osmeña Peak, I was able to gather some information and awesome tips from Janice our guide and I would like to share it with you all through here in the Exotic Philippines blog. There are three (3) of us in this trip, and believe it or not we're able to fit in this single motorcycle. We got there at the area where we can start hiking to the peak about 30 minutes later. Going there, you'll be able to see a lot of vegetables. Even at the area where the tricycle guy will wait for you, there are a lot of vegetables, and you'll j

3D2N Stay Review at Ong Bun Pension House Ilo-ilo City

3D2N Stay Review at Ong Bun Pension House Ilo-ilo City

PROS: * Located Downtown * Just beside the street CONS: * Old Building * Damage * Smells old * Poorly cleaned * Bike shop at the lower ground floor November 2014 – I was sent by WithLocals as their Ambassador to Ilo-ilo Philippines to verify a host. With this, I need to find an accessible hotel for me that will also be budget friendly, but still a comfortable and safe place to stay. It took me weeks to finalizing the details, the hotel to stay, and the Ong Bun Pension House is my last resort. I was not sure on how near this accommodation is to the destinations I want to visit in Ilo-ilo, or if it will be easy for me to get around the city, but since it’s within the city I go for it. Ong Bun Pension House The Ong Bun Pension House is one of the cheapest accommodation that we can find in Ilo-ilo. We tried our best to get the best and cheapest deal since after Ilo-ilo, we’re heading to Boracay Philippines and get some beach bum. If you’re looking for a cheap place

An Interview with the Driftwood Sculptor James Doran-Webb

An Interview with the Driftwood Sculptor James Doran-Webb

Few weeks ago, I got the privilege to get an exclusive media invite to meet the awesome driftwood sculptor and see his works of art, James Doran-Webb. I’ve got a quick moment with him and was able to get to know more about him, and of course I’ll be sharing it with everyone here in the Exotic Philippines blog. I’ve never seen his works before, but I was pretty excited to meet someone like James and see this one of a kind artwork. Come to think of it, he was able to turn these. Into these... When I enter his shop, I immediately notice and saw these huge driftwood sculptors that is really jaw dropping – for someone like me who’s never seen this kind of work. Now, let’s get to know the artist slash sculptor of these amazing driftwood sculptures, James Doran-Webb. How or why you’ve chosen Cebu? I arrive here when I was 18, I was working in New York for custom jewelry company and then my boss said “Can you go to Cebu?” then I came, and I am still here. Why driftwood? I’

3 Cebu Day Tour Itineraries

3 Cebu Day Tour Itineraries

It’s summertime! And most of the people who knows that I am from Cebu Philippines , are sending me a message asking about where to go in Cebu. We’re all different, we have different needs, we have different types, so I’ve decided to give you guys a three (3) different 1 day itinerary in Cebu. You may combine them, you may choose some, or you may choose all! It all depends on you, who’s with you, or what you want to experience. First off, I’m not a DIY kind of person so most of these are either from the tours in the Exotic Philippines Tours or from WithLocals. I only DIY when I’m really familiar with the area, or have a friend tagging along that knows the area. Also, I don’t have an estimate time for each activity, destinations, etc. since I’m a sucker for time tracking - so I totally failed in being a Cebu blogger on that part. I can give you a time frame though, hopefully, that would be enough. And most of the tours I’ll be recommending here are tours that I’ve tried myself
