Calauit Safari Adventure 2015

Calauit Safari Adventure 2015

June 8, 2015 – We’re on our fourth day in Coron Palawan and for that whole day we have the Calauit Safari tour wherein we need to get up early to get on the boat and go to the Busuanga part of the main land, which is the total opposite side of Coron town. Took us about 3-5 hours to get to Calauit, but it felt like 6 hours since it was raining, and we wait for long long hours to get there. I even remember that we finally saw the main house of the safari we all are like “Finally!” Please take note that we’re on our 3rd day of swimming, snorkeling, and jumping into the waters of the lake, beaches, and open water. We’re all tired already, that’s why we didn’t mind the long trip to the Calauit Wildlife Sanctuary because we can totally sleep on board – but I wasn’t able to sleep that long since the view is beautiful too. Calauit Safari Tour Itinerary If it’s your first time reading the Exotic Philippines blog, I’m a sucker on time tracking so please bear with me on this. I can o

30 Hotels and Resorts in Coron Palawan

30 Hotels and Resorts in Coron Palawan

I was in Coron on June of 2015, and I was able to try out 2 Coron accommodation and I was able to share a review per hotel with you guys. Both accommodations are recommended, but if you’re looking for other hotels in Coron to choose from, then I’d like to share with you the list of Coron hotels through this blog post. Most of the Coron Palawan hotels and resorts included in the list have Wifi available, and restaurants, and only 12 hotels have their own swimming pool – but really you’ll be spending most of your time on the beach, on islands, so I’m not sure if you’re still up for a pool. But we made the most out of it and tried it just once out of 3 days we stayed at the hotel. Included in the list, there are 13 Coron resorts, 6 hotels, 5 lodges, 2 inns, 2 guest house, 1 apartment, and 1 bed and breakfast in Coron . Please take note that when you click on the name, you might be taken to a new window to view the details with the photos about the hotel. Let me share with y

ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 - Zenfone 5 Comparison and Review

ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 - Zenfone 5 Comparison and Review

I’m a Zenfone 5 user since last year, and there are times that my posts here on the Exotic Philippines blog contains photos taken by my Zenfone 5 phone. I’m happy with my Zenfone 5, but I was still thinking of upgrading my phone because I felt like I need a better quality of photo taken because there are times that I’m too lazy to bring my Canon DSLR or even my GoPro to event invites or special occasions. But then, got an early gift with a knock on the door saying there’s a package for me, and when I opened it, it was the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 which is super cool – just saying it all first. There are a lot of Zenfones already out there, there are some that I was thinking of getting but way too beyond my budget. I don’t like buying phones that costs more than a laptop because I felt like it’s not realistic at all. Good thing, ASUS has their affordable Zenfones in line and one of which is the Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0. But before anything else, you might ask why I’m sharing this her

A Giraffe Meet and Kiss at the Calauit Wildlife Sanctuary of Coron

A Giraffe Meet and Kiss at the Calauit Wildlife Sanctuary of Coron

I’m amazed with the giraffes since I was little. Watching a lot of movies back then, TV series, and cartoons with giraffes makes me want to pet one. So, when I found out that one of Coron Palawan ’s tourist spots is the Calauit Wildlife Sanctuary wherein some giraffes from Africa are kept, I gave it a go! I was like begging my blogger travel buddies that we all go there and include it in our itinerary. Luckily, they want it too!

Snorkeling Above the Lusong Gunboat Shipwreck of Coron

Snorkeling Above the Lusong Gunboat Shipwreck of Coron

Right after we visited the Lusong Coral garden , and scared of the jelly fish passing by, we went to the Lusong Gunboat Shipwreck. At first I was wondering why the boat stopped, the boatman said that we’re at the shipwreck. I’m like “whaaaaat?”. I thought the Calauit Safari tour itinerary of the day have ended, but I was wrong. I jumped in again (without my life vest) even though I’m so tired already after snorkeling at the coral garden and at the North Cay , but I want to see the shipwreck myself, so I must do this. At first I can't see where's the shipwreck yet, the boatman was pointing the way to me. Then I saw a somewhat figure. And it was the ship's front tip, in a side view, or somewhat tilted. I go near to it. Well, actually snorkel nearer to that figure. I felt like it was so creepy, because the water in that area is cold. Probably because of the ship, making it more colder. But seeing what's inside it, the view, it becomes really creepier. Like I

The Lusong Coral Garden of Coron

The Lusong Coral Garden of Coron

When you say “Coral Garden” first thing comes in mind is of course, a lot of corals, second is a lot of fish. Imagine a view of a lot of fish. So, I’ve expected more fish here than what I’ve seen in Siete Pecados , Banana Island, or the Malcapuya island . We stopped by here when we’re from the Calauit Safari Tour, there’s another coral garden around but the boatman said the current is too strong and it’s harder for the boat to go there. So we didn’t insist. But this coral garden is the Lusong Coral Garden, which has a strong current also that day but manageable. Sadly, I’m not sure why and what’s wrong that day. Or is it because we didn’t have much rice to giveaway to them, but there are only few fish that came out that day. But then, there are friendly sea creatures that might want to greet you willingly going up. Yeap, watch out for these. But the boatman said they don’t sting and they even eat these type of jelly fish. Channel was freaking out there, who wouldn’t? After tha

A Quick Stop at the North Cay of Coron

A Quick Stop at the North Cay of Coron

On our way back to the Coron town proper, which is about 4 to 6 hours boat ride (per way) we dropped by at the Black Island, Lusong Island’s Shipwreck and Coral Garden, and of course this beautiful yet small island of North Cay Island. I don’t have much to share about this island, since I was more on swimming and snorkeling in the island. But I think you’d like this blog post with Filipina Explorer about the island of her Love at First Sight to the North Cay Island - she has a lot more beautiful to say since Gretchen roam around while we're snorkeling. My fault! We stayed there for less than 30 minutes, yet they’re asking us for an entrance fee of P200 yet we asked to haggle for the price since the P200 is per head not for all of us. So, if you want to drop by here make sure you make the most out of it but then there’s a possibility that you’ll miss other important destinations that I’d think you’d enjoy much better. The beach itself is all white sands, no stones.
