So, I happily accept the task to do it since that would be really useful in sharing it with you all here through this travel blog, Exotic Philippines!
At first I thought that it will be just the 4 of us, I decided to just hire a taxi for the whole trip. But since they’re tagging along their friend and special someone, and it’s best to put us all in one car (to get to know each other) I hire a car rental instead – which is better.
DIY Cebu City Tour Itinerary
8 am – Pick up time.10:30 am – ETA in Taoist Temple.
11:00 am – ETA in STK ta Bai restaurant.
12:00 am – ETA in Magellan’s Shrine
12:30 pm – Sto. Nino Church
1:00 pm – ETA in Heritage of Cebu Monument
1:30 pm – Yap - Sandiego Ancestral House
2: 00 pm – End of Tour
Please note that I’ve made a 2 hour allowance since sometimes there are people that are in Filipino time (1 hour late) plus if you’re staying in Mactan Island, you might need that extra time. But if you’re in Cebu City an hour allowance for the travel time will be enough.
We actually finished the tour around 1 PM since we were just about 15 minutes in the Magellan's Shrine area. Though there are some areas that you can still visit, like the Mactan Shrine (especially if your hotel is in Mactan), we needed to end our Cebu tour before 3 pm since we needed to meet up with our boss. But it's very much doable if you want to drop Mactan Shrine.
DIY Cebu City Tour Expenses
P 3,000 - 7 hours car rental (Innova - good for max 6 persons) from Cebu Trip Rent a Car
P 300 - Yap - Sandiego Ancestral House entrance fee. P50 per head.
P 2,000 - Lunch at STK ta Bai. Good for 6 persons.
P 5,300 - Total expenses
/ 6 - persons
P 883.33 / person
Since our boss paid the whole tour for us, we didn't divide it. But just to give you an idea on how much you'll be able to save if there are more than 4-5 persons in a tour I've divided it for you.
Cebu Trip also offers a van rental, if there's about 12 of you guys (maximum) you can totally get the van instead for at least an additional of P600 - still you save a lot.
DIY Cebu City Tour Contacts
I know it should be DIY. You can take jeepneys and all, but there's no jeepney passing by the Taoist temple, you have to go for the taxi. After that though, you can totally take a jeepney but you have to be familiar with the route, which I want to share but thinking twice about it since I don't go much anymore in Cebu City anymore and there are times that they do change the jeepney routes.Anyway, here are the contact details of the car rental we hired for this tour.
